The Night Before
For anyone who does not know: I will be in Cairo, Egypt for the summer doing an internship with a company called SilverKey and I will be creating website content. I leave May 9 and return August 14. I speak zero Arabic and have never left the U.S. for more than 10 days. This will be a whole new experience.
I leave tomorrow evening--less than 24 hours! The last few days have been busy getting everything together and trying to spend time with family and friends. I'm pretty nervous...I still don't have a place to live and I still don't know any Arabic! I'm definitely still really excited and anxious to get over there.

Livin' the dream.
The night before? Nerves? Try being the parent! We're sitting at home waiting for a phone call..from London..the 12 hour lay-over when you're to meet up with your sister Joy. But no maybe it won't be until Saturday sometime. I can wait. The butterflies in my stomach are calm, they are beautiful things! Skype is on, I am sitting at the computer...And no your father is not driving me crazy! You are a jewel James. I cannot wait to hear from you, to see pictures and read more about your adventures! We just heard from James! He is safely in Cairo. Exhausted, it is 4a.m. Saturday there. He is in his apartment. I love Skype! Sleep the sleep of a prince James! Love, Mom

Testing. I have never participated in a blog before. James I look forward to tracking all your adventures. Your Mom hooked me up with your blog site. I am going to try to learn about this Skype thing today. I want to hear all about the culture and food. Please post a favorite meal with recipe if you have time. Or better yet, a link to an Egyptian cooking site. Anyway, Uncle Chuck is off to work and I am still stuck at home from ankle surgery. Well, now I am going to go flying on Google Earth to find you. What will your address be? My thoughts and love are with you.
